The sculpture is based on a grid pattern. Ten blocks contain stylized figures depicting childhood, parenthood and old age. Five blocks on each side are colored, hand cast glass. Bronze ivy is along the left front edge. Across the top of the grid is a sky with birds, at the bottom are fish. The frame suspending the grid is block steel.
