Ripley cannon

This 3-inch rifled barrel cannon was purchased by the citizens of Ripley in 1862 when their town was under threat of attack during the Civil War by forces from across the river in KY. The cannon currently stands on the front lawn of the Ripley Library. It was restored in 1962 by the Ripley Women's Club, and again in 2012 by the Union Township Public Library's Friends of the Library.
