This mural is part of a series of murals in Steubenville, Ohio. This mural commemorates Dorothy Sloop, a jazz pianist, and inspiration for the 1964 song “Hang On Sloppy” by The McCoys. The mural also honors Steubenville resident Anthony Violi, the 100-year-old Ohio State University graduate and oldest band alumnus who recently was honored by the school. The mural is located on the building that houses Froehlich’s Classic Corner Restaurant on North Fifth Street in Steubenville.
