This sculpture depicts the heroic sized figures of the iconic German literary duo, Johann Wolfgang Goethe (1749–1832) and Friedrich Schiller (1759–1805).

This sculpture is one of many copies of the original Ernest F. Rietschel's 1857 cast bronze statue that resides in Weimar, Germany.
