Greenwood Park Sofa
2004 / Robert Huff / Columbus
A carved limestone, life-sized sofa. Huff, an Associate Professor of Art at the University of Akron's Myers School of the Arts, was selected by a jury of local artists to create an installation in one of the then-new Pocket Parks in Greenwood Park. He chose to carve a couch from limestone because the property lot had once housed furniture stores. He hoped to connect the prior history of the land with the current use.
