Flowers on the Plaza: Tulips

As if the Ronald McDonald House wasn't already a bright enough beacon for the Cleveland Community, Mort and Iris November commissioned artist Hector Vega to install a garden of bold, stained glass tulips in the front. These perennial, colorful blossoms mark the entrance to the Ronald McDonald house, where struggling families can stay together for free. Like something out of a fairy tale, these over-sized, geometric tulips seem to bow and bob in the wind, as you drive past on Euclid Avenue. They are an endless source of wonder for the children who stay at the Ronald McDonald House, and to the parents they are a reminder of the safety and love the House offers.

Hector Vega is a Puerto Rican artist, raised in Cleveland, with an eye for bright colors and a heart for charity. Much of his work has gone to charitable organizations, both local and national, and his singular style is unmistakable.
