It is a replica of a design by Danish sculptor Bertold Thervoldsen and depicts the nymph Hebe from Greek mythology (holding a pitcher in her proper right hand at her side and drinking cup in her outstretched proper left hand). It was manufactured by J.L. Mott Iron Works (NY). The fountain was removed ca. 1928 due to the construction of the bank's new building and remained at a private residence until 1976, when the bank had it restored by Hamilton Foundry and installed it once again on High Street. In 2012, the fountain was moved to a newly-built pocket park on the northwest corner of High Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. The fountain was damaged in October 2018 when it was hit by a car and was subsequently repaired by Robinson Iron in Alabama and returned to its home in the pocket park in 2019. The mural "Incrementum," by local artist Paul Loehle, was created on the wall behind the fountain and features images of the statue of Hebe. It is believed to have been sculpted from marble by an artist in Italy in 1895. This memorial statue was originally installed in the center of a raised grassy mound in the middle of the Milledgeville-Plymouth cemetery. In 1943, it underwent a restoration and cleaning and was mounted on a pedestal. The statue was rededicated and the pedestal was etched with the names of the veterans of 4 wars buried in the cemetery. The statue stands near a Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Civil War memorial consisting of a mounted cannon barrel and cannon balls. The cannon barrel and balls were stolen from the memorial around 1960 and were subsequently replaced by reproductions. A Vietnam Veterans memorial was also added to the site. The creation of the memorial was supported by the citizens of Fayette County and many local groups and individuals. The main component of the memorial features stone tablets etched with the names of the veterans. The central column of this element is etched with the emblems of the various branches of the U.S. military and is topped with a statue of a bronze eagle. In 2007, an additional sculptural element (by artist Richard Rist) was installed behind the original monument and features a rifle standing on its end next to a pair of soldier's boots, with a helmet placed on top of the rifle. The memorial incorporates a number of commemorative elements, including a bronze sculpture of a female firefighter carrying a small child and several memorial benches in honor of specific men and women. At the center of the memorial is a concrete vault containing a time capsule. On top of the vault is a bell that was once on the riverboat Reuben Springer; this bell served as the Loveland firefighters' alarm bell until 1934. There are four pillars with additional memorial plaques honoring fallen responders, including those who lost their lives in a 2007 fire in Charleston, SC. Behind the central vault is a 9/11 memorial, featuring a section of an I-beam from the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The memorial was rededicated and renamed for local fire chief Candice M.
