Xan Palay
Quoting Xan Palay about her recent work: “(these pieces) depict psychological states of the mind that are established through the conditions of combined elements. The situations I set up are recognizable to both viewer and myself as maker. I am hoping the viewer can sympathize with these pieces as they move from an assessment of the materials and composition into an exploration of the conceptual space defined by the work.” This exhibit will feature pieces made by the artist in Aichi, Japan; The Kohler Cast Iron Foundry in Kohler, Wisconsin; and a new piece made exclusively for this show. The Sculpture Center is dedicated to enhancing our community's appreciation of sculpture by fostering the careers of emerging sculptors and promotes the preservation of outdoor sculpture. It is located in University Circle at 1834 East 123rd Street. Gallery hours: Monday through Friday, 10:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Free Parking is available.) |
