| January 10 – February 7, 2003 "once
upon a time there was a world: whimsical, humorous, synthetic, girly,
intimate, alien, glittering, sexy, soft, innocent, explicit, humming
and obscure.........." "I weave fictional narratives, dream worlds with anchors to the real, occupying a space between familiarity and fantasy. The environments are systems – overlapping worlds, groups and subgroups that are contrasted and united through scale, color palette, sound, form, space, and making technique. The continuous change of the vocabulary, the pushing and pulling between these things, creates hierarchies, different events that both compete and communicate. The groupings and their spacing become a journey of discovery. I lay down paths, combine the micro and the macro, introduce different narratives into the work, evoke notions of communication, irritation and movement between elements, infuse life into objects, and ask the viewer to relate oneself to."
